Christmas 2009 revisited......
Well as I mentioned before, last year I put up TEN trees. I know, what was I thinking? Here's a look back for all of you who want to see how truly CRAZY I really am...
Marshall Fields Glass Ornaments - all Santa's and Snowmen
9 foot Snowman Tree
Funky 12 Days of Christmas Tree, I got this on clearance the year Marshall Fields closed and carried it all the way to the train station to get it home :)
The Baby Ornament Tree - all in pink and ribbons ~ these ornaments are all the ones from the girls first few years...precious memories
The Molly Tree ~ her collection and her favorite Santa hat :)
The Sadie & Annsley Tree ~ see it could have been worse, there could have been one for each of them...AND there isn't a McKensie tree, she had just moved home from college and her room was too cluttered.
The Santa Claus Tree
The Fall Fruits Tree
This one reminds me of God's provision in my life. The cardinals right outside my patio doors inspired this tree made out of clay pots and grapevines.
Swedish wreath full of folksy farm animals
The Christmas Mantle........
Pink & Brown Snowflake Tree
My Charlie Brown Christmas Tree that we cut down with mostly handmade ornaments and my favorite stars made by my friend, little Annie C. :)
And there you have it!! I'm not doing 10 trees this year...but I did happen to rescue a white feather tree at Michaels yesterday........
OK I promise I didn't start it this year...it was McKensie (my oldest who is following in my creative footsteps). I came into her bathroom and there was the purple tree. I swore I wasn't putting up 10 trees this year but when I walked around the corner and saw this, something in my snapped, the creative gene went into overdrive. I told everyone I was going to the pharmacy to get some cough medicine so I could sleep last night but I had an ulterior motive...purple hand soap, purple candle, decorative tissue box, and tree skirt (it's a scarf). Now I'm afraid I won't be able to stop...someone help me :)
Last year I put up 10 trees ~ all themed. This year I just feel like keeping it simple. Everyone agreed (miraculously) to put up our artificial pre-lit tree instead of cutting one down. So I thought "OK I'm good with that...one tree and more relaxation this year." I'll let you know how that works out!! ;)

cuteify your life ~ candy bouquets
I've been thinking about what wonderful swim teachers my girls have had this summer and wanted to do something a little more special for them and candy bouquets came to mind. I have some clay pots in the basement that we painted long ago and never did anything with and they would be perfect for a simple 'thank you' gift for a wonderful summer teacher. Here's some summer inspiration!!!
Start with the type of candy you want to use, buy it or make your own like they did over at The Decorated Cookie.
At Bentley Boutique they have a cute idea for a bubblegum bouquet.
Here are gumballs that are darling as a bouquet item:
You can find them over at Ruffled.
My BFF (blogger fav friends) Dawn at Not Just a Mommy does a whole tutorial on these gumball bouquets and she has alot of really cute pictures.
Whatever you decide I'm sure will make that special someone in your life smile just because you thought of them in such a yummy way.
Here are some book suggestions:
